12 Apr Sharples Group Supports Adrian Morley’s Testimonial Committee
Sharples Group Director, Mark Brocklehurst, has joined six other local business people to head up, Warrington Wolves Skipper, Adrian Morley’s Testimonial Committee.
Tasked with helping raise as much money as possible for Adrian Morley’s chosen charities (the Wooden Spoon Society and Manchester Children’s Hospital) the Committee has got straight to the job at hand by successfully publishing a special 2012 Calendar.
Mark’s passion is Rugby League and he has a wealth of experience gained from years of involvement in the management, organisation and participation in many charitable and sporting events in the North West of England.
Mark, said; “The testimonial will run from April 2012 and will involve a number of events spread across a three month period. We’re already promoting the Launch Dinner to be held on 7th March. Also being arranged is a boxing night with Frank Bruno, St George’s Day Dinner and a Golfing Day to mention just a few of the events. We hope our enthusiasm and efforts inspire the people of Warrington to dig deep, get involved and help us make Adrian’s testimonial as great as the man himself. ”
Adrian Morley is one of the game’s finest ambassadors and recently became the first GB International to reach 50 caps for his country.
Testimonials are normally only afforded to players who serve a club for ten years but the Rugby League allow special ones for those who are deemed to have provided excellent service to the sport.
Adrian played for Leeds between 1996 and 2000. Although also eligible for the Welsh national team, he made his England and Great Britain debuts in 1996 and says representing his country has been his “biggest honour”. After a spell playing for the Sydney Roosters in Australia, he returned to the UK and joined Warrington in 2006 becoming an instant hero with the fans with his no nonsense performances.
