The first (and definitely not the last) Sharples Technology Day
The first Sharples Technology Day was held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington on 22nd May 2019.
The event showcased the very latest in office technology solutions, providing delegates with ideas and inspiration for streamlining business efficiency. They even had the opportunity to print their own promotional materials on state of the art equipment on display. Stands featured demonstrations from OKI, Epson, Kodak Alaris, IDNS, Cheshire Telecom, Yellowbus Solutions and Epson.
Attendees included a mix of visitors from across industry sectors within the north west, all with the desire to learn more about streamlining business efficiency through the use of the latest technology solutions. The event also provided plenty of opportunity for networking, which everyone agreed created a great energy at the event.
A breakout session on Cyber Security was hosted by Laura Hodgson of the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit. A very sobering presentation on the enormous impact cyber crime can have on businesses, and the ease with which it can be committed.
Our keynote speaker was Paul Taylor, MD of Cheshire Telecom, and member of the employer skills and growth and strategy groups for the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership. Paul gave a stimulating speech on the LEP initiative to ensure businesses have the skilled workforce they need now and in the future.
Inspirational guest speaker, former Warrington Wolves play Adrian Morley talked about his career transition from sport to business, and the skills that can be applied to both.
