We are pleased to announce that one of our colleagues Adam Barnes, who is a service technician for the Sharples Group, will be participating in the Ultra White-Collar Boxing Competition, taking place on Saturday 17th November at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington.
Adam decided to take up the huge charity challenge as an inspired way of raising money for Cancer Research UK and has been undertaking an intense eight-week training programme to get in optimum shape.
For those not familiar with it, Ultra White-Collar Boxing is aimed at people with no boxing background to train up and experience boxing in a safe and enjoyable environment. It’s not for professionals, but for novices who want to get fit and try something new. The programme is intense and designed to get competitors to a high level of physical fitness. It also equips them with the techniques needed for the actual fight.
Adam said, “It’s been a tough few weeks, but I feel fitter, I’ve learned a new sport and I’m feeling proud that I will be raising funds for a great cause too. I’ve gained a real sense of achievement and would recommend white collar boxing to anyone wanting to take on a challenge!”
Adam is helping to raise money for Cancer Research UK. If you would like to support Adam in his boxing quest and donate to Cancer Research UK, please take a look at Adam’s Just Giving page.
